Hello Bloggers!
This week we learned about the use of slideshow
tools and how they will be very useful in my educational activities. There were
many types of slideshows that we could use such as Animoto, Prezi, Fotobabble, and
PhotoPeach. I used the tool Animoto as it was very simple and easy to make a
slideshow. When you first go on the Animoto website is gives you a step by step
list on how to create your first slideshow, making this a very simple tool to
use. It can be used for my educational acitivities in the future if I have any
presentations where instead of finding a YouTube video, I can make my own
slideshow of the information. Teachers can use this tool as well to introduce a
topic or a lecture. Not only can it be used for educational purposes, but can
also make slideshows of family/friend pictures and memories. Animoto can
communicate not only through text but through pictures as well which is a great
way to correspond what you are truly passionate about. With Animoto, you can
simply insert photos and videos, customize your style, and share it.

PhotoPeach is just like Animoto in which you create
a slideshow through photos. Personally I did not go into further detail with it
as I solely used animoto. Fotobabble is the same thing but instead it allows you
to use audio and is more for business related presentations. Prezi is very
similar but instead of it showing like a video it is more of a slideshow like
PowerPoint, but the designing of a Prezi can make the presentation look very
interesting and keep everyone focused. All of these tools help in my building
of knowledge as they will help me in making my presentations for class more
solid and more personal. These tools are very different from other collaborative/communication
tools as they have a totally different type of collaborating involved within
them. If you are in a group and all of you are together making the slideshow,
then that is known as collaborating. You can comment on the slideshow as well
which is communication between people, but it is different communication than
Twitter. With the Animoto, you are communicating through the slideshow instead
of just typing out something and posting it online. This tool fits in the
creating and synthesizing part of my Personal Learning Network as it is a
slideshow that I am personally creating myself with pictures and text.
As for my feedly reader, I found an amazing
article on The
1 Trick That’ll Keep You Coming Back to the Gym. If you like going to the
gym but then die off after a bit, then this article is perfect for you! It talks
about the effects of working out and one of the most important things to do after
that will keep you going back. It helps you look forward to the workout! This
is something I find hard to do too is look forward to the workout but you have
to know all the essential parts of exercise to truly want to keep doing it.
Thanks for reading this week guys! Until next
week!
